Time and time again, I hear folks tell me I am judging them when I analyze things from God’s viewpoint. The average person will quickly quote Matthew 7:1. In many cases, this is one of the only Bible verses they can pull from memory.
Judge not, that ye be not judged. -Matthew 7:1
Jesus goes on to explain that we should not judge in a hypocritical manner. He gives the example of pointing out the sawdust in your brother’s eye while ignoring the log in your own. People ignore this and quote the first bit of Matthew 7 as a reason for nobody to form a spiritual opinion about anything.
In today’s “politically correct” society, nobody wants to point out anything wrong because, God forbid, they would inadvertently judge someone! Only God can judge! Yes. However, the Holy Ghost gives born-again believers discernment to test spirits and determine good from evil.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. -I Corinthians 2:15
The New Testament tells God’s children to test every spirit, expose the works of the wicked, pray without cease, and test yourself to see if you are in the true faith.
We will reign with Christ, judging the nations. Don’t let people pervert the scriptures.
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24
Amen.
